We recommend that you carry out the registration process in the MFA portal on a laptop or PC and have your smartphone ready while you do so.

The MFA Portal (MFA – Multi-Factor Authentication) serves as a simple user interface for distribution and management of tokens for MFA at the TU Ilmenau.

For applications such as exam management, you need a second factor in addition to your username and password to log in. This is a one-time password that you can either generate using an app on your smartphone or take from a TAN list that you print out.

You will also need the TAN list in case you need to replace or reset your smartphone.

You can now set up the second factor here once. After setting it up, you can use this page to renew the TAN list or smartphone token, e.g. if the TAN list is used up or you want to use a new smartphone. However, you will then need a one-time password from the old TAN list or the smartphone app to log in.
